It will help expedite your getting through security if you follow these simple suggestions:
Miscellaneous Pointers

- Students must adhere to dress code
- Public (or private) displays of affection are not permitted
- If you break any law it becomes a police matter.

AIRLINE POINTERS:
Since we our flying Southwest Airlines, you can check a bag for free, woo hoo!. That being said, you are allowed 1 suitcase and 1 carry-on.
It will help expedite your getting through security if you follow these simple suggestions:
- Put anything that might be construed as a weapon in your packed luggage. Not only do the authorities take the item away from you, they are now fining the individuals.
- Remove your shoes, belts and everything from your pockets and put them in the trays provided. No liquids greater than 3oz. are allowed to be carried on and then they must be in a quart size clear plastic zip-lock bag for inspection. Pack all other liquids such as shampoo etc. in your checked luggage.
- If you get stopped and searched, just be patient and cooperative. It doesn’t take very long. Typically, you have done nothing wrong. It is just a random check.
- There is minimal food (peanuts or pretzels) served free on flights any more. There are usually soft drinks provided. Plan to bring something to eat on the flight. But remember no liquids until you have passed through security.
- You will need to have the picture ID that we took a picture of to check in. You will need that same ID and printed ticket to go through security. When you have gone through the security, give your ticket to your chaperone. They will give them back to you when it’s time to board. That way we know you are present and not missing the flight!
- ‘Wise guy’ comments are not appreciated and are taken very seriously. You may find yourself sitting in the departure lounge as the plane takes off and there will be nothing that any of us can do about it. (In other words, there is absolutely no reason to say the following words at the airport: bomb, terrorist, hijack, etc…)
Miscellaneous Pointers
- Regardless of the destination, there is always this rule ----- Never go anywhere alone.
- Our rooms will be blocked on as few floors as possible. A security guard for each floor will come on duty normally at 11:30pm each evening and will be on that floor all night. He will be responsible to see that you stay in your rooms and that no one bothers us on those halls. Please be respectful of the other guests in the hotel by being quiet in your rooms after curfew and in the halls always. When we are at the hotel, you are to stay on the premises AT ALL TIMES.
- Leave your nice jewelry, expensive purses, and laptops/tablets at home. You are just asking for someone to take them away from you. Bring a small backpack instead of a purse, or carry your bag bandoleer style. Keep all of your belongings with you. A good rule of thumb; if you can't afford to lose it, don't bring it! Bring only what you truly need to the parks.
- This is not a subject we like to bring up, but it must be addressed. Shoplifting is a crime! Don't even give the appearance that you would try to take anything without paying for it. In other words – do not even think about it. Most of our destinations, like many other tourist cities have a zero tolerance policy for shoplifters. Neither your directors nor your escorts will be able to help at all. Your parents will be called and they will have to come get you. This will be a matter between you and the police. It is not pleasant! Therefore, DON’T!
